Cat Tien National Park – Viet Nam’s UNESCO-recognized World Biosphere Reserve
Day 1: HCM – Nam Cat Tien National Park (L, D)
7:30 am: The driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and then transfer you to Cat Tien National Park (about 4 hours).
11:30 am: When you arrive, you will check in at Cat Tien Jungle Lodge, an elegant wooden bungalow, and enjoy your lunch in the forest. After lunch, stroll with the tour guide into the tropical jungle to discover the variety of plants and animals. Trekking into the rain forest, where you see the Giant Tung Tree, and immersing yourself in wild life
Continue the journey; you will have time to freely explore, cycling through small trails through the forest. You can see many species of birds perching on tree branches along both sides of the road, etc., or relaxing in the brilliant scenery.
5:30 pm: Have dinner at the local restaurant in the National Park.
Then, you’ll have a once-in-a-lifetime experience on a nighttime jeep ride for an hour of wildlife viewing with a chance to see Loris, fishing cats, pangolins, civets, etc.
Overnight in Cat Tien.
Day 2: Nam Cat Tien – HCMC (B, L)
Have breakfast at a local restaurant.
7:30 am: The jeep will take you to the Crocodile Lake, which is the home of not only Siamese crocodiles but also a lot of rare birds that have already been listed in the Red Book of Animal Protection of Vietnam and the world. It takes about 20 minutes, and then you will have to trek 5 km there. If you are lucky, maybe you can easily admire the charming peacock courtship dances, the melodious sound of colorful birds on the hundreds of trees, or the sight of innocent deer seeking food.
It takes about 1 hour to trek to Crocodile Lake, where a number of animals such as Siamese crocodiles, Boss Gaur, Eurasian wild pigs, Sampa deer, and a variety of waterfowl species are seen.
After that, get back to your lodge for lunch and check out.
3:00 pm: Return to Ho Chi Minh City.
7:00 pm: The driver and tour guide will drop you off at your hotel.
